Tortilla Roll-Ups

Have you ever been asked to bring a quick easy appetizer to a party?  If you’re like me, you can think of tons of dishes when no one is pressuring you to deliver.  But with the clock ticking and your aim to make everyone happy…what will you choose?  I love something that’s fast and travels well without a lot of fuss..like worrying about it falling over in the car and looking like a hot mess when I get to my destination.  I’ve seen variations on this roll-up through the years.  I was first introduced to this through my Aunt Ruth (the queen of easy dishes) a long time ago in its simplest form.  It’s just good to be reminded that you do have this in your arsenal to pull out in a hurry. Grab your favorite flour tortilla and some herb flavored whipped cream cheese that you can spread easily.

My aunt used to chop up green onions and mix with plain cream cheese.  Spread to near the edges of your tortilla, and you guessed it…roll it up!

Then slice up the tortilla into rolls that you can dip into your favorite salsa.  Feel free to add thinly sliced ham to the roll up if you like.  I’ve also done that, and it’s yummy.

You’ll get about 8 slices out of each tortilla.  If you’re making for a big group, you may need two tubs of the cream cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1 package flour tortillas
  • 1 tub herb flavored cream cheese
  • jarred salsa
